With the kind permission of THF i am finally after my long career being able to put in words my thanks to all involved in the UK hockey scene.
This season has been my last as a player and with the many people i have met over the years i must say it has been my honour and privilege to play in front of you and on many occasions enjoy a beer with! I could be here for quite some time thanking everyone but if i miss anyone out i apologise.
Over the years i have been thankful to play with many great guys at many great clubs and the memories i take with me are priceless, from my early days with the Fife Flyers to my championship winning days with the Sheffield Steelers, along the way playing for Solihull Blaze, Coventry Blaze, Sheffield Scimitars, Newcastle Vipers, Edinburgh Capitals, Wightlink Raiders and my final club the Slough Jets who i give my biggest thanks to. As a player you always want to finish on top and with the Jets this weekend gone i finally won something at EPL level and to all my teammates, staff and fans i'd like to thank them all personally for giving me that one final opportunity of tasting success.
To all the people i have met and became friends with over the years, i thank you. Many people take your persona from the ice and cast you as that person, but if you've shared a beer or conversation with me you'll see that is far from the truth and to all of you thank you for your friendship and support over the years and of course all your kind words this weekend after my phantom heart scare at Swindon. On that subject i'd like to thank all the Link centre staff for their promptness and professionalism in that situation, sometimes these people don't get the credit they deserve so thank you to them.
To all my ex-teammates i wish them all the luck in their future careers, i hope they can have as much fun as i have over the years. And to the fans whom without this great sport of ours would be no fun playing, i gave you my deepest and warmest thanks for your support, friendship and banter we have shared and i wish you all and your teams the best of luck for the coming years!
